All I have to say is that I have been to multiple Persian restaurants and Javan tops them all. The food is exquisite, great service,people friendly, servers were really nice to my kids , they have great music playing in the back ground , and a great selection of alcohol. We've been regulars here for over 10 years. Incredibly friendly and welcoming staff. Good sushi at a reasonable prices. Very kid friendly, especially on Saturdays at lunch. In fact, Saturday lunches are a great bargain -- prices are discounted (especially for the bento box), several specials are available, all entrees include salad bar. - 5 Stars for Athenian Plaka by karren on 02/29/08
My husband and I were in the restaurant during lunch and it was not crowded. We enjoyed our meal. The food was plated very nicely. This was our fist time there and everything we ate we loved. We got warm bread while we wait for our meal. For appetizer we ate the feta, tomatoes and olive dish. The ingredients tasted fresh. main entree was lamb and shrimp the portion on the plate was just right. The caramel dessert was perfect it tasted homemade. I thought the pizza was great. They use a real wood burning stove. Pizzas are a good size with a great variety of fresh toppings. They also have good salads and empanadas. Cool atmosphere too - they have a large screen TV and a nice bar. Definitely more variety than other local pizza joints. Personal favorite place to eat in bethesda. Fairly good service, but
classic bethesda. Try the hickory burger (or the others) as well as

The best Korean place in Bethesda. The sushi is always good and fresh. The owner/manager is always nice and attentive. Superb portions for the money. Convenient take out service.
