The reflection of a vision shared by chef/owners Tony Marciante and Iddi Diarra, this aptly named little bistro offers diners a sanctuary from the pretensions and prices normally associated with gourmet-caliber cuisine. Here, amid demure accoutrements and an atmosphere of intimacy, New American fare is presented that underscores a commitment to simplicity, creativity, and above all, freshness. Experimenting with textures, tastes and cooking styles to bring out the natural flavor of ingredients, the menu changes seasonally, incorporating only the freshest local bounty. Based on the time of year, main plates may include Seared Giant Scallops with apple and fennel reduction, Mac & (local cheddar) Cheese with Roasted Chicken, Roasted Veal Chop with cheddar grits, and Crispy Whole Fish featuring the freshest catch of the day. The owners have hand-selected their wine list to complement the food perfectly, and the special little nook called "Lovers Lane" is an ideal spot when dinner-for-two tops the bill.

    I expected much more, and was disappointed. I ate there within
    their first month of opening, and tried them again recently, and
    thought the chef owners should spend more time in the kitchen
    and less time walking around. A bit amateurish service, can they
    make it in the competitive Bethesda restaurant environment?

    You must get the seared scallops and the calamari! The service was great and the food was bar none. This was a refreshing elegant and delectable experience. The chefs actually come around and say hello and are very genuine. They hail from years in the business and decided to go out on their own. A breath of fresh air from the usual crowd in our area. I will definitely be booking my future business lunches and get togethers at VISIONS!

    I plan to return to Visions. The atmosphere was friendly, our server's advice was absolutely right, and the food was very, very good.
